LEOPARD CONSERVATION PROJECT

ABOUT

THE LEOPARD CONSERVATION PROJECT

Get involved in this new leopard conservation project by sharing your leopard sightings and photographs on Mabalingwe!

Join Mabalingwe Game Reserve with Ingwe Leopard Research’s nationwide leopard monitoring project and submit your photographs of leopards. Funded by the On Track Foundation, this project was started to collect photographs that hold crucial information that will help assess the true population estimates and leopard distribution. This information is vital to implement best management practices (i.e. creation of wildlife corridors) and to adapt current policies (i.e. determining hunting quota). All your leopard pictures will be used for individual identification using the Artificial Intelligence tool of the African Carnivore Wildbook(ACW).

Our guides invite you to help us contribute to valuable ecological monitoring when on a game drive with you. We can guarantee that your experience on Mabalingwe will be boosted as you actively participate in hands-on conservation and learn how to protect endangered species.

Follow the below steps to be part of the community:

STEP 1

Report any leopard sighting by following one of these 3 options:

STEP 2

Stay updated on how your photographs can help save an endangered species.
